After graduating from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a degree in Theatre Arts in 2006, Ben worked in Minneapolis as a theatre artist where he helped found the company Savage Umbrella, dedicated to creating new work. In 2009, Ben came to the four corners to perform the role of Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun for Sandstone Productions and fell in love with the area and decided to stay. Since then, he has been in numerous productions in the area and took over directing Troupe 1096 at Durango High School in 2015. In his 10 years as the theatre teacher and director at DHS, he has directed over 30 productions with the help of his production team, Jenny Fitts and Natalie Cohn. Ben hasn’t worked with Durango PlayFest since their inaugural season in 2018 and is excited to be part of the fun again this summer.
