SUBMIT A PLAY TO DURANGO PLAYFEST!

Submissions Accepted August 1 – October 1, 2026.
A maximum of 200 submissions will be accepted.

• $25 submission fee.
• Dramas or comedies accepted (no musicals at this time).
• Full-length plays should be approximately 90-110 minutes in length (80 – 110 pages). There are no intermissions at the readings.
• Plays may feature one to six characters.
• Submissions must be plays still in development. They may have been workshopped before, but not produced or scheduled for production before the 2027 festival. Playwrights are expected to further develop their work during PlayFest week.
• Each play selected will receive two public readings. Use of props, sound and lighting cues will be minimal.
• Playwrights receive a $500 stipend, airfare, lodging and meals.
• Playwrights must be residents of the continental U.S.
• Playwrights featured at previous PlayFest festivals must take a one-year hiatus before submitting again.
