Fran was a professional director and choreographer whose work contributed to more than 200 musical productions. Later, she joined her husband, Bud Franks, in developing numerous cultural centers across the country, including Houston’s Hobby Center for the Performing Arts,  San Antonio’s Tobin Center and the Briscoe Western Art Museum. She has been a board member of Durango PlayFest since its inception in 2018 and a long-time member of PlayFest’s special events committee.
