PlayFest’s long-standing internship program with Fort Lewis College provides paid, on-the-job training that expands students’ worldview and opens opportunities down the road. Students fill a variety of important festival roles in stage management, production, marketing, social media, special events, and more. YOUTH SPEAKER SERIES
The REAL-WORLD THEATRE Speaker Series brings young playwrights, actors, and theatre professionals of diverse backgrounds to Durango to speak to students at Fort Lewis College and students in 8th grade and older in La Plata and surrounding counties. Frank discussions of the challenges and opportunities in the industry – warts and all – can inspire students to envision theatre careers they may not have otherwise considered.
