Margaret debuted on Broadway in The Great Indoors followed by The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and The Knack. She also made public theater performances in Museum, Long Day’s Journey into Night, and King Lear (as Cordelia). She recently performed in Lyle Kessler’s The Great Divide. She earned both a Fox Ovation “Best Actress” award and an “Outstanding Comedy Actress” Soap Opera Digest Award for her nine-year role in Falcon Crest. TV credits include Mozart in the Jungle and Crisis in Six Scenes. On film, she appeared in A Wedding, The Whales of August, and Playing Bette Davis. In 2019, Margaret won seven “Best Actress” awards from the Independent Film Circuit. Margaret is a lifetime member of the Actors Studio and the LAByrinth Theater Company. With her husband, Lyle Kessler, Margaret created The Imagination Workshop, the longest-running arts and mental health organization in the country which serves Veterans suffering with PTSD.
